Small Changes, Big Differences ( 微小的改变带来巨大的不同)
There’s a saying: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” In life, many great achievements and transformations often stem from the smallest of actions. It is these little efforts, when practiced consistently, that gradually lead our lives toward a better direction.
A few years ago, I decided to spend 10 minutes every night before bed writing a gratitude journal. I didn’t have high expectations at the time; I simply thought recording small moments of gratitude might help me sleep more peacefully. On the first day, I wrote, “A friend gave me a sweet treat today...” On the second day, I wrote, “I enjoyed a delicious dish at dinner...” On the third day, “The moon tonight was so bright and perfectly round...” These seemingly trivial things, through daily persistence, slowly began to shift my mindset.
Before I knew it, I found myself becoming more positive and easier to satisfy. I used to dwell on small setbacks, but now I can more easily see the brighter side of things. Even on a bad day, I can always find a small moment to be grateful for—like someone saying a kind word to me, or realizing I had enough time to make myself a cup of tea.
This experience taught me that true change doesn’t always have to begin with grand gestures. Simple habits, like going to bed ten minutes earlier, drinking an extra glass of water, or learning one new word each week, can yield tremendous rewards over time.

这个经历让我深刻体会到,真正的改变,不一定要从轰轰烈烈的行动开始。就像每天坚持早睡十分钟、多喝一杯水、或者每周学一个新单词,这些微小的努力,时间会给予你巨大的回报。
