Wow! I love steemit contests for various reasons. One of the reasons is the fact that no one loses. It is either you win or you still win. hahaha Amazing right? Let me explain what that means; In a situation where the contestant does not meet the requirements to emerge winner or so, remember he/she still earns from votes.

Sometimes your earning may not be enough to be pleased with, but how about what you've learnt so far? How about the exposure?

It is very necessary for minnows/newbies or "redfish" as madam @maryfavour prefers to call us, to participate in these contests/challenges as this support measure taken by our older, more knowledgeable and benevolent steemians is only intended to get the younger guys noticed by many.

Anyone who out of love,puts out a contest/challenge has an intent of encouraging newbies with SBD gifts and so. But the bigger gain is that every participant must earn atleast a reader and or follower to their blog, sometimes unknowingly.
Whether or not you won the contest, your good content is easily noticed by a lot of readers who may not have seen the post if it wasn't projected through the contest. So you see?

MY WEIRD SELFIE CONTEST ENTRY

Dear @thatindianlady i hope this is weird enough? lol...

WHY EVERY MINNOW SHOULD ATTEMPT THIS PARTICULAR CONTEST

I really want to win this prize because it is so attractive, but if i don't, i want you to win. Yes you! my dear reader,follower,newbie, minnow/redfish. In this contest the 1st winner bags 50 whaleshares, the 2nd winner goes with 30 whaleshares while the 3rd wins 20 whaleshares. Wow! @thatindianlady has a very good heart. If shes were from Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, she'd be given a chieftaincy title (Obong uwam 1 of steemit community lol)

However, Newbies may not understand the meaning of whaleshares and it's usage . It is Ok not to understand something but very bad not to want to. I am a newbie and still learning but i will quickly brief you what whaleshares is in my little knowledge. (I stand to be corrected)

what is whaleshares?

Whaleshares is a tool which helps those of us with low steempower (minnows) to get votes from those with very high steempower (whales). This tool which was designed by @officialfuzzy seek to encourage the whales with incentives to hold their steempower instead of having to power them down and selling them off. With this idea, the steem price keeps soaring high as there is no dumping of steem by the bigger investors in the market.
You build your steempower and further your payouts when the whales vote your posts.
