First Attempt at a Self Portrait

About a year ago, I was following other artist on a website, and they all decided to do a self portrait. I thought why not, I won't learn unless I try. So I got a mirror and started. I don't know if you've ever tried to look in a mirror and get a resemblance of a normal expression, but for me, it was very difficult. Hence the deer in the headlights look. I am a want-to-be artist. I was not really wearing a pink shirt so that painting something that is not there was no the best choice. I do realize how bad it is but also how good it is that I made the start. Now I can see some of the things I did wrong and can improve on next time. Getting an artist eye is an interesting process. I can't say I am even close but making progress.
