Alms are wrong address
Once, the Prophet, as he often did, chatted with his companions in the porch of the Prophet's Mosque, Medina. After sharing with them, he said to them,
"One day a man said to himself, 'Tonight I will give charity!' And indeed, that same night he gave alms to a woman he did not know. Apparently, she was an adulterer. Thus, the incident became a public discussion.
"Finally, the news reached him. Hearing such news, the man muttered, 'Oh God! Praise be to You only. It turns out, my alms fell into the hands of an adulterer. Therefore, I will give charity again! '
"So, the man then looks for someone he thinks deserves to receive alms. Apparently, the recipient of the alms, without knowing it, is a rich man. Thus, the incident was once again the conversation of the crowd, then came to the man who charity.
"Hearing such news, the man murmured, 'Oh God! Praise be to You only. Turns out, my donation fell into the hands of a wealthy person. Therefore, I will give charity again! '
So, he then, carefully, searches for someone he thinks deserves to receive alms. Apparently, the third recipient of alms, without knowing it, is a thief. Not long ago, the incident became a conversation of the general public, and the news reached the man who gave charity.
Hearing such news, the man also complained, 'Oh God! Praise be to You only! O God, my charity turns into the hands of the unexpected: adulterers, rich people, and thieves! '
The man was then approached (angel messenger of God) who said, "Your alms have been received by God. It could be adulterers will stop adultery for accepting the alms. It could also be that the rich man got a lesson because of alms, then he menyedekahkan some sustenance that God gave to him. And, it could be that the thief stopped stealing after receiving the charity. "
