RE: Why are people upvoting Non-important posts?? The new clickbait. Read a post before you upvote!

And we also need to stop the posts that complain about the circle jerk. There are at least five in the stream every day. The site is still young and people are trying to figure out the right/best ways to use it.

Sort:

have a look on the steemit specific category. Many people creating posts about steemit just too get upvotes, when many have some important information or put everything into writing a piece, Don't mean to come off as a jerk i just have noticed an imbalance in meaningful posts getting upvoted too ones that have nothing important to say. I agree though it is young and i hope it keeps growing. I just really hope the ass kissing within steemit would stop. open discussions also help further steemit.

Believe me, I know. But instead of writing a post about it just flag the posts. It will get better as more users have more power. At this point the #steemit #circlejerk exists because it's been profitable. Once more people with more power do more voting for #charity #philanthropy #life and other tags, things will become more sane, I'm sure of it. You didn't come off as a jerk, I probably did moreso, I just notice posts like this one as prevalent as the clickbait and tagbat posts.

i feel open discussion could help forward the community in this respect. Dude. you just hit the nail right on the head!! I did put about the irony at the bottom but i just felt maybe someone should post about this, the collective community is more powerful that the few circle jerks.

Absolutely. In all seriousness, I made more money on comments today than I've made with the last three or four blog posts combined. We should work to strengthen the community aspect more than just throwing money at authors (not that good posts don't deserve it).

same here, its a shame importance come after clickbait. Hope it changes!
