FINALLY THE END OF SARS

It is interesting that the menace called SARS is finally coming to an end. SARS is the acronym for the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, which is a unit of the Nigeria Police Force.

In recent times, both in news and all over social media, there has been series of complaints and allegations against the unit bordering on harassment, violence and human rights violations. The unit had grown so powerful and malicious, acting without caring how it affected others without consequences.

According to news reports, the acting president, Prof. Yemi Osibajo, has ordered that the notorious unit be wound up. Hence, all necessary machinery has been put in place to enforce the closure of the actives and existence of the said group.

Well, well, a lot has certainly happened since the president left the country on vacation. The acting president, who is also the nation's vice president, has been taking decisive steps and crucial decisions during the period. One can only hope for more.
