STATUS OF WOMEN

in #sd7 years ago

Yesterday I was on my way in bus travelling for my university as u know there are separate portions for ladies and gents, some boys who were seated near to the ladies portion were misbehaving with few ladies these boys seemed to be well educated, reason of mentioning this is that as a citizen of Muslim state it is started being taught in school level about the status of women, parents, teachers etc. In view of yesterday’s incident it seemed to me that our young generation don’t know how to respect women.

There was a time when female children were buried alive in Arabia and women were considered transferable property, Islam honoured women in society by elevating them and protecting them with unprecedented rights. It seems that we are still living in old days. Islam clearly explains the status of women very clearly and it is being taught in early stage of life in school. Not only in Islam in all religion is the respect of women mandatory. In Quran God devotes an entire chapter of the Quran, the holy book of Islam, to women. In addition, God directly addresses women repeatedly throughout the Quran. Islam proclaims that all human beings, men and women, are born in a pure state. The goal of every Muslim is to preserve this purity by shunning evil tendencies and beautifying their inner being with virtuous traits. Journey of women as daughter mother wife is so precious and beautiful similarly as wife they have their own rights

According to Islam it is clearly mention that men and women are equal, it does recognize that they are not identical. God created men and women with unique physiological and psychological attributes. It means that it’s there right to get better and equal rights like education. For example, God commanded women to cover certain parts of their body, including their hair, to preserve their modesty. Men are also required to cover parts of their body out of modesty, but not in the same way as women. Therefore, God commanded both men and women to be modest; yet, the manner in which they observe it is different. In the Qur’an in the first verse of the chapter entitled “Women”, God says:

“O mankind! Be careful of your duty to your Lord who created you from a single soul and from it its mate and from them both have spread abroad a multitude of men and women. Be careful of your duty toward Allah in whom you claim (your rights) of one another, and towards the wombs (that bore you). Lo! Allah has been a Watcher over you.” (4:1)

And again in the Qur’an:

“O mankind! Verily we have created you from a single (pair) of a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes that you may know each other.” (49:13; cf.4:1)

In short I can say that the current status of women is not according to the principles of Quran maybe this is the reason of many problems if we respect other in future others will respect. It’s our duty to stop and take action if we see any women is being treated badly because same can be happened with our daughter wife and mother
