I went to the Glenfiddich distillery when I visited Scotland. It was 10 am or so in the morning. After the tour, we sampled different whiskeys. I believe it was a 12, 15 and 20 year old. The oldest one was smooth a delicious.

Of course, the group I was with had a bunch of females who didn't want liquor so early in the morning. I gladly drank theirs.
