Writer's Group : Let's write a story together ( part four : discussion)

Part three went over like a lead balloon. Neither the discussion nor the story did well. Very disappointing. I had been encouraged by the voting from part two but apparently it was in response to the Vandal rather than to my story.

In yesterday's episode the 'gestalt' was established and the 'scientist' and her associate were contemplating ending it, OR transferring it down to the planet.

Several questions reared their ugly head.

Would a Gestalt have Gender? Would a Gestalt be a he or a she or other. Gender Studies scholars have discussed the proper way to refer to those who profess to be neither male nor female, him nor her. They have devised Gender Neutral Pronouns for Example at The Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center they say that don't use

He/She
use zie, sie, ey, ve, tey or e

don't use
Him/Her
use zim sie em ver ter em

don't use
His/Hers
use zis hirs eirs vers ters eirs

and finally, don't use
Himself/Herself
use zieself hirself eirself verself terself emself

makes perfect sense...right?

Which brings to mind the question

Would the hypothetical Gestalt Human BE non gender? What if all of zir/hir's subunits were all the same sex? That is what if they were all male, or all female. Then the Gestalt human would BE male or female.

However...what if the substrate were mixed gender. Males AND Females....and babies.

hmmmm. Would an unborn baby. A fetus in the womb be part of the Gestalt? Could it communicate with the Gestalt? When? Imagine a baby being born, everyone in the Gestalt sharing the experience AND being able to communicate either directly or indirectly via the Gestalt with everyone else in the substrate from the moment of birth.

Imagine the mother knew EXACTLY what the baby needed or wanted?

I want some discussion on this folks. I'm going to hold off writing the next segment until I get some feedback.
