Day-to-day aspects that are caused by a large phenomenon // Climate change // Reflection
Have you heard expressions similar to these in the area where you live?
It is really notorious that for some cases, the tropical climate of savannah is given many cases such as for example the geographical place where I live, in these types of climates it can be seen that the seasons of drought and rainfall do not differ from how they were decades ago past. Even in recent years, it has always rained from time to time in my country (Venezuela), I also see that the sky stays cloudy for longer and the dry season has not manifested as before, I do not know if I have noticed too.
With relative similarity and because of the resemblance of different regions on planet earth, I imagine that the inhabitants of other parts of the world are also observing the same thing, in relation to the different types of climates that correspond to the area where they live, it is for As we see news about flooded cities and fields in Europe, Australia, Asia and America, we also see the counterpart of the situation with very long droughts in Africa and in other areas of the different continents.
All these aspects that we live and observe on a day to day basis are indicative that the climatic characteristics mentioned above are changing, and the behavior of temperature and precipitation no longer fully matches those of the past. That is why we talk about "Climate change.
Taking into account different factors in the analyzes I have been doing in readings on this phenomenon, I would dare to say that the changes that the climate has suffered throughout the history of our planet and taking into account the elements and the various factors of the climate give me to conclude that climate change is not a fact that has only been presented in our present time, and is that in my consideration to study all relevant aspects of climate change is necessary to study the history of our planet for this way to understand and understand the current behavior of this phenomenon, that is why studying the history of our planet, since the beginning of its existence has had modifications in distant times (geological eras), when even had not yet appeared humanity in it . A well-known example is the one related to the disappearance of dinosaurs on our planet, as it is considered that it could have been due to notorious climate changes.
In consequence of the above, I faithfully think that it is natural that the earth has modifications in the different elements that are present in it for various reasons, suppose I do not know that the earth is more than 4500000 million years old, it is difficult to think that everything this time all the elements that conform it are maintained in a static and unchanging way, it is absurd right? then, otherwise, within a dynamic process, we have to see evolutionary changes, and in my opinion, within these evolutionary changes of our planet, there is that of climate change.
All of this may be asked: What is climate change? And what caused this phenomenon? Climate change is nothing more than the changes that have happened to the climate of our planet through its history, that is to say, that climate change is not something new? origin ?, There are two main causes, one of them is the direct or indirect action of human activities that alter or disrupt the atmosphere of the planet, the other reason that there is global warming is simply the variations between the natural activities that are produced for our planet, including the eruption of volcanoes, decomposition of organic matter to be later expelled by greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, among others.
For me and for many experts in the study of climate change, the current historical moment regarding the phenomenon is much more linked to human intervention than to those of natural origin, especially because of the highly polluting action of the gigantic international companies. They exploit the various natural resources in an irresponsible manner, in order to obtain great economic gains, without taking into account the damage they cause to the environment and to the living beings that inhabit our planet.
The action of large international companies and even those located in countries with less industrial development are linked to the value of consumerism. This is what allows industries to produce in huge quantities and thus continue selling to continue receiving profits. Commercial propaganda is the means used to stimulate consumerism and so people continue buying items, often unnecessary.
If we look closely it is respectable that there are two ways of thinking about climate change, it is striking that most of the studies of high industrial development countries such as Japan, United Kingdom, United States of America are those that indicate that human intervention in climate change has not yet been demonstrated, gives the impression that they were defending the interests of their industries and not of the world population, your friend who is reading me, what do you think? let me know in the comments.
There is another object of study that can not be separated from climate change and is global warming, a term used to refer to the increase in temperature on the planet, which is one of the fundamental causes of climate change, and that when we analyze the causes of global warming we arrive at the same point described in the previous paragraphs with the causes of climate change, that is to say, the high level of industrialization achieved caused global warming and climate change, one consequence of the other.
The phenomenon of global warming, in my opinion, is much more worrying than that of climate change, since global warming, in addition to causing climate change, also leads to a series of very serious consequences for the earth. One of these problems is the melting (melting) of the poles, which can cause the waters of the sea to reach places that today are occupied by different human communities, especially in coastal areas, also affecting the diversity of fauna and fauna. plant ecosystem on the planet.
According to the forecasts the increase of the temperature in the planet will bring diverse consequences, between which it is:
Destabilization in the production of food (and indeed this is already happening, when global food shortages already exist).
Increase in droughts and floods (this is not because of global warming, droughts and floods are also elements that have caused destabilization in the production and generation of food).
To what has been described above is added the fact that due to these drought and flood conditions some procedures have to be implemented that are used for agroindustrial exploitation, which generate harmful effects on soils for agricultural work and even turn desert into areas that before they were not, especially in the countries with the weakest economy, among these procedures we can highlight the use of chemical fertilizers and insecticides, the use of basic foods for some peoples of the world to generate fuels (ethanol), the use of seeds transgenic, among others.
As questions and theme for the healthy debate in the comments I leave the following questions:
As can be deduced, the food security of our peoples is being threatened by global warming and climate change.
What changes do you think should originate to minimize this damage?
Do you think that global warming is a reversible or irreversible process and why?
Maybe there are many more questions of this exciting topic, but I just want to leave these two to debate and reflection, any contribution you want to leave in the comments will be of special help for all as inhabitants of our planet earth.
Regards.
