Yeah, hemoglobin carries oxygen. Fun fact, hemoglobin has a stronger affinity to coordinate its Iron with carbon monoxide, that's why it's so toxic because the stronger coordination bond is hardly reversible and takes a long time to get rid of the molecule once it's attached into hemoglobin and when enough molecules are carrying CO instead of oxygen our cells start to die due to lack of oxygen.
