Let's all debunk creationsim for good

in #science7 years ago

The debate is philosophical, not scientific, beacuse in the scientific community evolution is accepted as fact. Despite this, A gallup poll reported that the percentage of people in the US who believe in a strict interpretation of creationism had fallen to 40% in 2010 after a high of 46% in 2006. The report found that Americans who are less educated are more likely to hold a creationist view while those with a college education are more likely to hold a view involving evolution.

It's terrifying that 40% of the world's largest superpower believe that God created the Earth within the last ten thousand years, literally as described in the Genesis creation narrative, within the approximate time-frame of biblical genealogies.

The Christian organizations Institute for Creation Research (ICR) and the Creation Research Society (CRS) both promote young Earth creationism in the US. Another organization with similar views, Answers in Genesis (AiG)—based in both the US and the United Kingdom—has opened the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky, to promote young Earth creationism. Creation Ministries International promotes young Earth views in Australia, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, the US, and the UK. Among Roman Catholics, the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation promotes similar ideas. In 2007, Ken Ham founded the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter in northern Kentucky.

What will happen if one of them becomes the president of the USA (there was already a candidate Mitt Romney)? And read in the Bible, for example, that Satan rules Europe and he decides to attack us? If he believes that the earth is 6,000 years old, he can believe anything equally stupid.

So let's finally overthrow creationism for Our common good!

Here we have a special page where all the possible answers have been gathered on the subject of evolution creationists ask over and over again. Now you have the answer

Excellent post. I hope to see you putting out more material like this giving a critical look at YEC. There are so many questions that YEC cannot answer. My favorite is this.

If the Earth and all of creation is only 6 to 10 thousand years old, then how can we see the light of stars and universes that are more than 10,000 light years away? It would take longer than the age of all creation for that light to reach us, but you can look at the sky and see billions of stars in our own Milky Way Galaxy that are 200,000 light years away. Go figure.
