Most people charge the battery when the phone is going to switch off, which is an incorrect way. Because lithium-ion batteries are very sensitive and pressure on them can reduce their lives. That's why you must change your habits to charge the battery.
Here are some suggestions which can be help full to increase battery lives.

Avoid Over Charging.

Avoid overnight charging and turn off charging immediately once the battery is charged, because the chemical system inside this battery seems to be severely affected. This is exactly what the charge should be continued after the battery is completed.

The overcharge of the battery reduces the battery and makes it worse

Don’t Charge Battery Up To 100%.

It is not correct to charge lithium-ion batteries up to 100%. This will start over charging in the battery and the process of deterioration will begin. Instead, whenever you get the time, charge the battery slightly, which doesn’t make any extra pressure on the battery. This means charging the battery at different times of the day instead of charging it with a single blow.

Apply The Phone Plug When The Charge Is Reduced By 10%.

It can be charged if you are at the office or home and battery charge has dropped 10 percent. So, keep it charging at different times of the day. If you follow this process the smartphone battery will remain in the best condition.

Keep The Battery Cool.

The heat and temperature are the number one enemy of the mobile phone battery. That's why don’t put phone in the hot places. Always keep the phone cool. The battery gets hot when it is charging and don’t keep it in the sun while charging. This way the battery will remain in the best condition.
