Researchers Create a Gas Smoothing Gas Detector Tool

in #science7 years ago

The Chinese researchers again made a breakthrough. This time, they created an artificial gas-based gas-detection apparatus that equaled the dog's olfactory power.

The dog's nose is very sharp because there are millions of capillaries in the sense of smell. It inspired the researchers to develop a roll of nanoscale made of graphene that was better than the previous creation.

The reason, the researchers argue that the pre-existing nano rolls are difficult to produce and develop, as well as energy-intensive.

They also modify the graphene with polymer material or sodium-p-stryrenesulfonate by frozen drying so that the material structure is more uniform and not broken.

Researchers from South China Normal University and Beihang University explained that the new nanoscale has a large cross section resembling a dog's nose. This new version is also more stable and strong at high temperature and durable.

When incorporated into the gas sensor, nano coils are also found to increase selectivity and sensitivity.

This method is also considered potentially to be mass-produced.
