I wish I could explain Steemit like Richard Feynman was able to explain Science.
I enjoy reading about and listening to Richard Feynman allot. For those who are not familiar with him he was a theoretical physicist that worked on the creation of the Atomic bomb in Los Alamos and later worked on quantum mechanics. Very interesting stuff indeed but not the point of this post. He was also famous for something else and the reason I like him so much:
Feynman had the ability to explain complex stuff in a simple way. A gift not many possess.
There are videos online from a BBC series where Feynman is explaining science in a way that is fun to imagine. Here he is explaining jiggling atoms and how they function in our everyday world. In 7 minutes you probably learn more about atoms than you ever did in school.
If you like this sort of stuff you might end up binge watching all of the videos. But if you don’t have the time I would recommend to watch just this one video. There is a small buzz in the sound but it’s worth it. Feynman answers a question here from the interviewer about magnets and how they work. But instead of answering the question he does something else. In a brilliant way he explains why this is a question he cannot simply answer in terms the interviewer is familiar with. But the answer is still satisfying.
I often feel like this. Sadly I’m not Mark the brilliant mind but the interviewer. I also have difficulty understanding certain things about Crypto at times. Bitcoin was ok, I have a good understanding of it and I’m easily able to explain it to others. But Crypto 2.0 like Ethereum and now Steemit. My god I find it difficult to understand it myself let alone explain it to others. When I watch some of Vitalik Buterin (creator of Ethereum) videos I often feel lost by the information and can’t understand if the things he is saying are brilliant or crazy or both.
I would love to have a modern Feynman amongst us today. Just sitting in his chair talking about the jiggling Blockchain and giving us a deeper understanding of crypto in a simple way.
Mark
