How to Time Travel, the easy way.

Traveling through time is inevitable, generally we travel through time at one second per second, but is there really an easy way to travel through time relative to someone else?

Yes, and all you have to do is go for a walk. By simply walking, you are traveling through time relative to someone who is standing still, and by doing this you will actually age slower than them.

But how does this happen? Space and time are just two components of spacetime, and one of the key principals of spacetime is, the faster you move through space, the slower time will pass for you. So just going for a 5 minute walk around the block, time will pass slower than for your friend sitting at home, so you will end up 3 femtoseconds younger than them, let’s not get too excited though as a femtosecond is one-quadrillionth of a second. Frequent fliers and Astronaut’s experience this time dilation more so as they are traveling at a very high rate of speed and are also further from the Earth, which brings us to the second way to time travel.

Standing up. An even easier way to travel through time is achieved by just standing up. By standing up you are further from the Earth, which means gravity's force is a tiny bit weaker. More gravity means slower time. But this concept gets pretty crazy when you start thinking about it:

  • Time passes faster for people living on a mountain than those living at sea level.
  • A watch strapped to your ankle will eventually fall behind to one strapped to your wrist.
  • Your head technically ages more quickly than your feet, about 10 femtoseconds per minute.
