Safety in classroom

in #science8 years ago

We think that the classrooms are safe until an accident occurs. We believe that our children are in a safe place during the hours that remain in the school until that happens an accident or some tragedy. Our schools are certainly vulnerable; much more than we think. Our classrooms, especially those that generate scientific activities of experimentation as the laboratories of chemistry can become hotbeds of dangers if they do not have the minimum safety equipment, or teachers and no teacher is not properly trained and qualified to carry out laboratory activities with the students. Some security measures consist of: · Use of equipment of security personal proper, such as robes of laboratory, glasses of protection, gloves, etc. · Equipment prevention of accidents such as showers, eye-wash, spill control, fire retardant blanket. · Chemical reagents with keys lounge · Classification appropriate for chemicals · Knowledge of the handling of reagents by instructors and students. · Supervision within the laboratory at all times. · Exhaust of gas with speed appropriate · Proper lighting · System of prevention and alarms of fire · Fire sprinkler · Fire extinguishers of appropriate classification · Prior knowledge of the management of reagents and evacuation in the event of accident plans · Knowledge of regulations of the purchase, management and disposal of chemical reagents · Design architectural appropriate to a laboratory for a number not greater of 24 students per group. · Knowledge of first aid certified.   Here are some recommendations that we can share, for now. Remember that we are legally responsible for any negligence within the classroom or science lab. Soon we will share more ideas to achieve a safe place of our laboratory.
