This is a beautiful and inspiring process to watch. In this lighting it almost mesmerizing. Enjoy : )

The water is slightly conductive due to different materials added to the liquid like salt. It transfers the metal through the liquid medium and onto the surface of the other metal. Direction of flow is changed by reversing charge. There is an anode (pos) and cathode (neg). The negative is where the metal will be deposited and the positive is the "donor" metal. You can even move the metal back and forth...
