HETEROCHROMIA OR HUMAN CHIMERAS? CAN A PERSON HAVE TWO DIFFERENTLY COLOURED EYES?
HELLO!
My dear fellow steemians, today I would like to talk about Heterochromia Iridum. It is a rare condition in which a person or even animals can have two variants of eyes. Not just eyes, they might even have different colored hair as well.
You might have noticed how pretty Mila Kunis's eyes look and aren't Paris Hilton's eyes just hypnotizing? Cricket fans might have noticed Shane Warne's eyes. Dan Aykroyd, Alice Eve and The man of steel Henry Cavill are among those few celebrities with different types of Heterochromia.
Breaking down the name:
Hetero means different.
Chromia means state or condition of pigmentation.
Iridum means iris.
Types:
1. Congenital Heterochromia (inherited as autosomal dominant)
2. Sectoral Heterochromia (completely different coulour in same iris)
3. Acquired Heterochromia (acquired in later part of life due to accident or any disease or tumors)
Heterochromia due to Siderosis
4. Central Heterochromia (two different colours in same iris, but one in the center and other in the periphery)
Even animals can have them.
Just look at how cool this cat looks!
This dog's beauty stole my heart!
That's all for today.

The different types of heterochromia kind of has me wondering if there are any recorded cases of 1 person having multiple kinds at once. I have both central heterochromia and in my left eye I also have sectoral heterochromia but can never find anything on the internet about someone else having a combination like that.
