We all wonder what Facebook may have about us from data? Well, you can see that easily - but be careful, you may not like what you'll see.

Facebook keeps a lot of data about you, photos you've downloaded in the past, commercials you've clicked on, your conversations, files you send via Messenger, and more !!

But it is not the only one that does this, Google for example keeps its eyes on you too !!

Nick Whigham, a reporter for the New Zealand Herald, decided to find out how much information Facebook owns.

He was shocked by the vast amount of data collected about him, some of this data were not aware of their existence at all.

"The data contained copies I had scanned for leases of a previous property that I might have sent to my friend via Messenger, a report on the current lease book, an old monthly bill for the home Internet subscription, snapshots of bank transfers and seemingly infinite pages of discussions Useless you have made via Facebook ».

"It's certainly a strange feeling to think that Facebook has learned more about you than you've learned about yourself !! ," he says.

The site also maintains face recognition data, phone numbers from your contact list, when and where you are connected to the Internet, and much more.

You can find a copy of the data that Facebook keeps about you easily, all you have to do is click on the icon (down arrow) you find at the top left of your profile.

From here click the Settings option, then go to the General tab, and click Download a copy of your data on Facebook link at the bottom of the screen.

Approximately one hour after you make the order you will receive an e-mail that will notify you that your copy is ready for download.

Facebook explained that it is doing this publicly and open to everyone, so you can keep the platform free.

Some of us may admire this and others may reject it.

"We work with our partners to help us continue to deliver and improve our services, while they use ads on Facebook, which helps us to keep the service free around the world," Facebook says in their data policy.

Whether you want to deliver the details of your life to Mark Zuckerberg to keep Facebook free or not, this is finally back to you.
