A few months ago, I had a troubling experience that I want to share with you all, to highlight just how important it is to stay vigilant in the crypto world.

I was contacted by an interesting project, and as usual, I started doing my research. After diving deep into it, I discussed it with my channel partners. Initially, everything seemed fine, but then things started to get strange... They told me that to discuss the project further, I would need to have a call with one of the main investors: Pantera Capital.

Pantera Capital is one of the biggest investment funds in the crypto space. But I found it odd that they would personally contact me to discuss a project. Normally, these funds use marketing agencies or intermediaries, not individual YouTube channels.

The situation took a weird turn when they asked me to download a mysterious app to join the call. That’s when the alarm bells went off!

Luckily, a crypto-savvy friend had warned me about scams like this, where they trick you into downloading fake apps to access your device and steal data.

I wasn’t fooled, and after insisting on using official platforms like Zoom or Google Meet, I realized it was an outright scam. They tried to guilt-trip me, claiming I was damaging Pantera Capital... but I saw through it immediately.

If someone asks you to download an app you don’t know, especially when they’re rushing you, stop and think! These scammers are masters at making you feel guilty and tricking you into their trap.
