THE WORD OF GOD IS THE WORD IS A SPRING

My word ... will not return to Me empty.
Isaiah 55:11

As a child, our family occasionally traveled throughout the state of Nevada. We loved the electric storms in the desert. Along with the lightning and the beating of the rays, endless downpours covered the hot sand as far as our eyes could reach. Cold water cooled the earth - and us.

Water produces wonderful changes in arid regions. For example, the pincushion cactus is in a fully dormant state during the dry season, but, after the first summer rains, it blooms in a burst, showing delicate pink, golden and white petals.

Similarly, after a storm, it seemed that the dry soil in the Holy Land caused the vegetation to sprout overnight. Isaiah used the renewal of the rain to illustrate the refreshing Word of God: "For as rain and snow come down from the heavens, and do not return there but water the earth, and cause it to germinate and produce, and give seed to sow, and bread to him who eats, so shall My word be that proceeds from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, but it will do what I want, and it will be prosperous in that for which I sent it "(Isaiah 55: 10-11).

The Scriptures produce spiritual vitality. That is the reason why they do not come back empty. Wherever they find an open heart, they bring refreshment, food and new life.

The Bible is for a thirsty soul what water is for a wasteland.

If something we must be sure is that the word of God has an effect on anyone who hears it, it will never return empty because it will give the fruit in due time for which it was sent.
