SAINT LUCIA EXCITING FACTS & TOURRISM

Hello to my all readers today my blog is again the continuation of discovery of different Caribbean countries.So today we discover and travel in Saint-Lucia so lets start the blog.

First talk about how this beautiful country discovered in past.If your thinking that it was discovered by Christoper Columbus so your thinking totally wrong actually it was discover by JUAN DE LA COSA the owner of Columbus ship name Saint Maria. It first camp is set in saint Lucia is by french pirate but the earliest inhabitants are Arawak of south America.

Lets move towards the political history and how they get independence.The land of Saint Lucia is exchanged between British and French 14 times but French was first to colonize this region. The most excited fact is that SAINT LUCIA is the only country whose name is based on women. British ruled Saint Lucia As saint Lucia is in the hand of British but in 22ND FEBRUARY 1979 got full independence from British but still Queen is head of the states.

Another interesting fact that shock me is that its per head population have may Nobel prize mirror than any other country.Some famous Nobel prize winners are Arthur Lewis and Derek Walcot.

Castries is the capital of Saint Lucia.There are 12 provinces of Saint Lucia and approx 20 cities.its currency is Eastern Caribbean dollar.There official language is English but its large population also speaks French.There total population is only 179545.

Saint Lucia national dish is green figs and salt fish.Saint Lucia earns from its Tourism industry and Bananas.

In Saint Lucia believers of Hinduism and Christianity are found.The famous carnival is also the part of saint Lucia.The madras is the national dress of saint Lucia also called jipe.

Football and Cricket are famous in Saint Lucia but Darren Sammy is the only cricket player from saint Lucia in west indies team.

Now come to its famous tourism places.As we all know the popularity of Caribbean islands are due to its beaches but the landmark of Saint Lucia is the Petit pitons the two volcano rise from the sea.

Saint Lucia also bear the drive in volcano. Sulpher spring was formed with in a collapsed carter and large plumes of steam arises.

Jalousie beach is one of the famous place for tourism.

Mari-got Bay is also included in tourism attractions

Edmond rain forest is also the best places for tourists to travel

Anse Chasten Marine National Park

The current prime minister of saint Lucia is Allen Chestent.
