Episode 17: Sailing to the BVI's & How We Shower Onboard

in #sailing5 years ago

We take you on our longest offshore passage yet sailing from the Dominican Republic, across the infamous Mona Passage to Puerto Rico. But we cannot stop in Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands as we do not have the required visas so we keep going until we get to the British Virgin Islands.

We show you how we entertain ourselves onboard with fishing and grooving to music, but we also show you how we shower onboard while underway.

Spoiler: its pretty fun!

Hope you enjoy!

Love the shower and you actually realise how quickly you are moving. The home made flag was smart and I am sure they would let you off for a great effort anyway. Do you just buy a bundle of flags that covers that part of the world or is every place in a set?

Thanks so much! Yes you have to be careful, the faster you go the harder to hold on! I learned that I can swim about 3 or 4 knots in fast bursts and that I cannot climb the ladder at all in 5 or 6 knots! But it is good to know because next time there are dolphins we want to run a line off the bow and swim with them (John has done this before)!

We did get a bundle of over 200 flags on Amazon so that we would be covered. Like a party pack where they are all strung together and we just cut out the ones we need as we need them! But it gets confusing as what you consider a separate country in those islands that are affiliated with a European counterpart, so not EVERY flag is there!
