Pirate update..
update..
The police have all the video footage..
6 boats where plundered, plus my outboard and tanks. They boarded my friend Jason's boat but did not gain access to the cabin.
But a new development has reared it ugly head.
As you can see there are a lot of boats in our bay, but there are 2 less than should be.
With the reports spreading throughout the bay everyone went to check on things and 2 of our locals could not even find there boats.
As all the marinas have cameras there is going to be a lot of very long videos being watched tonight.
The pictures where not good enough to make out any identifiable people or information !
Log add on Aug 11 2019 Nothing was ever recovered!

The Starter is installed ...but the little 950 cranking amp battery just is not enough to spin the cat diesel over I am going to have to pick up an 8D on payday ..
On another note the pirate has been captured and there is so much booty they are having a viewing day for us to come identify our stuff the think he has been at it for over a year...story here. http://www.cheknews.ca/mounties-commend-helped-nab-boat-theft-suspect-maple-bay-329806
And A little musical interlude with my all time favourite song!
Its a Rainy day at the Bay. a lot of things on hold.
New Batteries on Pay Day. Still waiting on the Marine Engineer for the ok on the mooring pin, It looks like a 5000 lb chunk of cement is the weight needed to hold a 60,000 lb boat in place for our bay and weather conditions.
The weather sucks today as you can see from the pic from the Cow Bay Live cam and its my 1st day off in a long time hmmmm
Go Drink scotch with Karl ... Ok that's decided ....
So Everything is on hold Bye all !!!!!!!!!
Cheers
Oh link to the live cam at the bay
http://www.bigwavedave.ca/webcams.php?cam=8
The Police called my outboard was not among the items recovered so Cap'n Bri is in the market for a 9 hp kicker for his skiff should you have one lol..
Other than that an overcast day at the bay. You can always check in on the live cam http://www.bigwavedave.ca/webcams.php?cam=8&option=1&z=0

A cloudy dark rainy day at the bay.
Called into work for the next 5 days 😖 24 hr shifts so 120 hrs in .... In 5 days ... Looking forward to retiring and going sailing more and more each day ...
So everything is on hold until I finish work in 5 days or I win the 649 loto😏💰
Well 1200 days left until I retire and set sail..
Hmm that seems like a big no.
171 weeks there that sounds better lol
Also my fellow steemions Cap'n Bri has a list of boat parts needed for the adventure ...
Radar and autohelm are a couple of the big ticket items on the list so if anyone spots a good deal in there travels please point me in that direction thanks ...
Fair winds and following seas and long may your big jib draw! Cheers⚓🌴
Ships Log June 24 2017
Jason found me a new outboard for the skiff. We now have a 7.5 merc. Liked me 6 hp evenrude better. Lol
Beautiful day at the bay, the hottest day of the year so far 29°c
Cowichan Bay is also a deep sea port. Lumber is one of the biggest thing loaded here.
Boat budget is being threatened by the old ford truck.
Rear seal has gone, took it to a shop he wanted $4000 to do it.
Priced the main rear seal its only. 30 Bucks ... Think I will be doing this one myself to keep the boat fund up.
Well the work life is calling me must get to it
Steem on everyone...⚓
Sip and Puff Sailing for Disabled Sailors
2017 FCYC / Disabled Sailing Association Integration Regatta
One of the many jobs I have had was work with people with serious disabilities and have had the pleasure of going to St Petersburg disabled sailing regatta.
I got to stay at the St Petersburg yacht club for 3 weeks racing sailing and wearing socks with saddles... Fried the top of my feet the 1st day lol Wow the sun is hot there... This northern boy is not used to that..
If you know anyone with a disability and a desire to get out and have some fun I would highly recommend this.
I met people from every corner of the world and made some great friends.
The rolling out of the keg of Beer each night after the races was always a popular event.
and yes they should give impaired driving tickets to people in electric wheel chairs lol
The sip and puff system is quite simple and amazing on the little Martin sail boats we where using, you will be able to see it in action in the video.
To all the sailors out there Cheer and and may you never run short of Rum
