RE: Sabbath - fast or feast?

in #sabbath6 years ago

This doesn't belong in Christianity. The Sabbath was part of the Old Testament law for the Jews along with 612 other laws. Christians aren't under the law. We don't have to observe the Sabbath. Therefore we're allowed to leave our homes on Saturdays. We're allowed to cook and do whatever we want. We can even talk if we want to. My wife and I work different shifts. We talk for less than an hour a day during the week. I can't wait to talk to her all weekend.

Only cults teach that we must observe the Sabbath. Paul is clear that we don't have to observe the Sabbath:

(Romans 14:5 NIV) One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

Hello Barncat ! Well, I disagree :) Perhaps if you browsed some of the articles on www.whispersinear.com, you might see things differently. Not saying you cant talk to your wife, you cant talk to whomever you want if your work situation is like that just now...

But the Sabbath day is a special day, to me anyways. I hope you get to understand that. Yes, as I write we are not under the law and might argue your answer does not do this post any justice, as you cant have understood much of what has been written. The verse you gave above, actually testifies just that. Romans 14,5 mentions days, not Sabbaths, as it is a given that this day should be honoured before God. Taken out of context things become twisted, another gospel altogether and you get to believe whatever you want. Romans 7,12 or 7,22 does not exactly leave much room for doubt.... Paul is clear about the Sabbath and what the law of God is, if anything...

Just out of curiosity, what day did Paul meet up with fellow believers and talk with them in the synagogues ? You will find the answer to that is the Sabbath-day... Holy back then, holy right now :) Oh, one more thing, this day sure ain`t saturday or sunday... times have been changed :) Daniel 7,25.... friend, I love you... set yourself free from the doctrines of men.
