SLC-S21W1: Creating a Blog for Amazon Affiliate Marketing

It is my pleasure to take part in this contest and after reading up the lesson I decided to do the homework task I understand that affiliate marketing is an interesting course that one needs to do and that was the reason I developed interest in it and decided to read about it and involve in this course so as to gain more knowledge on it.

Understanding affiliate marketing

So looking at the scope of affiliate marketing, It is a business that interests one to do because it gives you the opportunity to earn commission by just promoting amazon products.

So each time a user buys product using my affiliate link, I stand the chance to earn some percentage of the sale. So if I can recommend my product to people through my social media handle or any other means, I will earn some percentage to it. With this in mind, I need to go for a product that will be interesting and eye catching to my viewers.

So to create my account I use the link available on the course to sign in using my chrome browser and with my Google account.

I clicked on "Create Blog" to create my account as seen in the picture above. I used my Google account, a few slide pop-up and I typed in the requirements.
They are as follows;

Blog Title: aside from health I always desire to promote kiddies essential, which may include everything that has to do with kids from 0-10 years. So I choosed DD's kiddies world. As the name will appearing at the top of my blog, it so catchy to attract viewers to my blog as they search for the type of content I deal on.

Blog URL: I also selected a unique URL that reflects what I will be promoting I choosed qualitykiddiestrendz.blogspot.com. I didn't want to go out of my line of products so as to be easy to remember.

Title	Display name	URL

Finally, I created a blog, then move on to set it up.

Applying a Custom Theme

As learn in the course, a custom theme will enhance my blog’s appearance to my viewers making it look more like a professional affiliate blog. Having this in mind, I downloaded a Blogger theme that is optimised for promoting product and this theme was provided by the teacher of this course, I used the link provided to download the theme.

I downloaded the theme and extracted it so as to be able to access the XML theme file. After downloading, I went back to the Blogger dashboard, I click on Theme, and select Customize an pop-up appears and I choose Restore to be able to import the theme, I clicked on upload and the XML was successfully uploaded.

After applying the theme to my blog, I viewed my blog and you can see how it look below 👇

At this point I explore the blog, I went to setting and add some setting to my page add a profile image and other necessary informations that I choose to It was nice exploring. My learning process wasn't easy but I was determined to learn this So after that I went ahead to do the next step which is the main deal let's see what I do next.

Add Three Dummy Product Posts

So to create my first post, I click on "New Post" in the left sidebar displaying different options, it opens a writing work space for me to add my write up and image.

From this work page a lot of icons are available for editing of posts and adding of images and videos anything that will make my post to catch the attention of my viewers to buy from my blog. So I explore on most of these icons and know their functions thereafter I added my image.

I viewed my blog to check my post after uploading, I was impressed by my work and hope to do more.

I actually went to Amazon to search for some products that I deal with then I downloaded it and upload it on my blog add title and the description of it.

And since I'm running an advert I needed to add some words to make it attractive to my viewers so they can buy from my block and after I finish writing mix I preview make some adjustments then then when I find out that my work was okay I uploaded it.
