13 years ago, she became the subject of an infamous YouTube clip entitled “The World’s Ugliest Woman,” that resulted in a lot of nasty comments because, you know, the internet is just a hellhole of haters, to be honest. But like a true champ, Lizzie rose above all the cyberbullying and is now an internationally renowned motivational speaker, best-selling author and anti-bullying champion. Who’s got the last laugh now?

Lizzie was born with a rare illness called Marfanoid-Progeroid-lipodystrophy. In layman’s terms, it means she can’t retain body fat and gain weight. All her life, she has never weighed more than 30 kilos, and her right eye went blind early on. But despite her condition, she continued to live her life with infectious optimism.

From going viral for all the wrong reasons, now her inspirational Ted Talk video has amassed more than 13 million views. Talk about poetic justice!
