Royal wedding: An anti-feminist event
Almost a week after the royal wedding, the whole world can't shut up about the modern "fairy tale". What astonishes people the most is how unconventional the bride, Ms. Meghan Markle, is in comparison to the standard royal bride. While the event is hailed by many as a win for feminists - emphasizing that regardless of Ms. Markle's ethnicity, race, nationality, martial status, she was able to break the glass ceiling and marry the prince.
To me, this idea is actually an offense for feminists. In essence, it still means that the value of a woman again depends on who she marries, not who she is. Without the Prince, Ms. Markle has already been a remarkable woman who is well-educated, has a successful career, and a track record of voluntary and activist story. Yet, it seems that her life's achievement has been overshadowed by her marriage.
If women has always been equal to men, maybe Ms. Meghan Markle's marriage to Prince Harry would not create such a hype. It is similar that only in countries where women are discriminated unfairly, such days as International Women Day (the 8th of March by the way) is widely celebrated.
A lot of feminists wont agree and maybe they really believe two people can fall so deeply in line ve that being trapped in a guilded cage doesn't matter-- but i def agree.
not only do i not think the royal family are special... i kinda think this guy is just a guy. Its sad that people are so desperate for joy these days that we need something like this to talk about. But meh, ppl like drama. 🤷♀️🤷♀️
I agree that I do not think that the royal family is special or there is any such things as royal blood. It is sad that we need drama and something fun so much these days to forget terrible things like the precarious shootings or political issues.
