Mr Calin Georgescu of Romania
Personally, I have read some articles by political analysts from America, and I believe they are missing the truth about Romania and Mr. Georgescu.
I can briefly offer you my perspective, as someone from Romania. Or how things look from inside the country.
It all started with a man named Călin Georgescu, who ran in the 2024 presidential elections. He made it to the second (final) round, alongside a woman from a relatively new but highly progressive political party (I will not discuss her, but rather Mr. Georgescu). The Constitutional Court of Romania decided to annul the second round and redo the presidential elections due to the discoveries made about Mr. Georgescu.
Mr. Georgescu is a very dangerous man. He has even managed to deceive many political analysts in America, Europe, and Romania. Why do I say he is dangerous? For multiple reasons.
The most important aspect for me is the theological one. Mr. Georgescu is deeply involved in New Age religions, spiritism, and superstitions. His wife is a witch who practices spiritism as a business. Additionally, he is a fan of certain shameful historical Romanian figures… Mr. Georgescu admires individuals who, during World War II, killed Jews. He also praises figures who were great Communist heroes in Romania. When someone publicly admires such individuals, I consider them to be demonized. And I see him as a friend of the Russians. A person like this should not have been allowed to run. According to Romanian law, you can go to prison if you publicly sympathize with fascist and Nazi figures who were criminals. Mr. Georgescu also talks a lot about God and Jesus, but it is a false Jesus and a false God—not the one from the Bible.
My biggest question is: how did Georgescu manage to run in the 2024 presidential elections? I believe it was a breach in Romania’s national security. I clearly see him as a man working for the Russians. Georgescu took us all by surprise—an unknown candidate reaching the second round. How was this possible?
Mr. Georgescu claimed that his electoral campaign cost 0 lei. However, Romanian prosecutors discovered that he received millions (around 10) of dollars from Russia for his campaign. Later, recordings were published of phone calls made by Georgescu to mercenaries working for him, discussing plans to destabilize Romania in favor of Russia. In fact, I don’t know if you read this in your news, but Romania expelled two Russian diplomats from the Russian Embassy in Romania after Romanian intelligence services discovered that mercenaries close to Georgescu had met with them multiple times in recent months. Those mercenaries fled Romania and are now internationally wanted for treason.
As time passes, more and more things come to light. Such a man should never have been allowed to run. Every candidate must be thoroughly vetted in today’s world. Therefore, I believe the Constitutional Court of Romania did the right thing by annulling the second round of elections. And I think the major security breach was that Georgescu was not properly vetted.
Furthermore, to run as an independent candidate in Romania, you need a certain number of signatures from citizens. It was proven that Mr. Georgescu falsified his signature lists. Moreover, he claimed to have had over 10,000 volunteers working for him to gather the signatures. I don’t think you can even find 10 people today willing to work for free to collect signatures, let alone 10,000. Too many lies.
I believe that God protected us as a country from having Georgescu as our president. I am disappointed in JD Vance and Elon Musk and in how naive they are regarding what actually happened in Romania. I am disappointed in them, as well as in many other analysts outside of Romania.
