He received the nickname of the Turks because he was ambushed and would be sent to Aleppo in the sigh, fearing he was not killed and converted to Islam, the religion of the Turks.
Mihnea II the Turks
He was elected lord of the boyars in July 1577, while his father, Alexandru II Mircea, who had joined him at the throne in 1574, was seriously ill.
In September, after the death of his father, he became a gentleman, but as he was only 12, his mother, Ecaterina Salvaresso, was regent.
His mistrust by Sultan Murad III (and exiled to Tripoli in 1583) was made in favor of Mr. Petru Cercel.

He then regained reign in 1585, paying large sums of money.
She was still under the influence of her mother until her death in 1589.
It has led to a strenuous fiscal policy, extended to privileged categories, in order to be able to face Turkish demands and to remove Petru Cercel, his competitor.
Mihnea Turcitul's official seal
It was removed again in July 1589.
Mihnea had promised Grand Vizier Koca Sinan Pasha as many gold coins as they could carry more horses to kill Peter.
In March 1590, his request was granted by Sultan Murad III, who ordered the execution of Peter in exchange for 70,000 gold coins.
Mihnea Turcitul
He reigned until May 1591 and, despite the contacts he had established, the Ottomans deprived the throne of Mihnea in favor of Stephen Surdul.
After that, he moved to Anatolia, and was no longer successful at the throne.
