Kristali (The Crystals)

The Crystals were created in early 1993. and quickly recorded the first demo track, which will become a hit on the same name debut released next year. It is about the song "Two meters" which was an addictive combination of Dejan Gvozden's rugged voice, hard guitar and windbreaking parts, while in the textual sense it represented an urban ode to youthful self-sufficiency and independence ("I have two meters and I'm a complete person! "). Although it was only B2 in the order on the album, this song immediately took over the lead after the release of the material, and very quickly a video was recorded for it.

The track "Oh, how beautiful you are" was played in a pop arrangement, with a swayed string, with gritty and bass sounds, which in combination with two vocal recalciters evoked the psychedelic state of love. After her turn was a guitar hit called "I Know", whose specificity was singing with deliberate and falching, which goes all the way to the limits of comprehensibility. Of the other tracks on the album, only one pop thing called "Eighth Day" was singled out, by which the Crystals announced their basic genre orientation.

With their early hits, the Crystals gained the audience's favor because they fit into the sound image created by rock bands with windbreaking sections like Playboy, DLM, and others.

However, the second edition of 1997 called "The Valley of Love" brought a completely different picture of the band. Consistently played in pop direction, with more melodic guitars and visibly modest vocal sections by Dejan Gvozden, the album communicated only with audiences inclined to such a sound. The "Tales", "I Remember Everything Now", "You From the Other World" and "The Valley of Love" were radio hits and were well-listed on top charts, but with this album, Kristals forever lost a part of the audience that is in them At first, I recognized that rocker side.

P.S.

The next material in the same arrangement, the album "Everything Comes", was made in 2001. The "I'm Changing", "My Heart" and "Rise and Run" and the title "The Valley of Love" have managed to find the way to the listeners as hits from this release. Live album "Live at Studio 6" was released in 2004. Currently the latest edition of Crystal is the album "Only blues" which was released in 2013.
