Why are we driving and drinking and killing innocent people walking home from work?

in #roadkill7 years ago

Why are we in a hurry? Why do we cut each other off dangerously, then when we attempt to warn the driver by laying on the horn, the aggressor fingers us or tries to runs off the road?

What happened on Thursday In my town is another act of horror.

This act deals with a young woman, who worked in an animal hospital and beloved by many. She was walking home from work when she was apparently on the sidewalk and mowed down by a truck (drunk driver), who callously left her to die like she was road kill. Her boyfriend became frantic when she did not show up at the designated time and he was looking after her young child. He went out to look for her, and sadly, it was him who found his girlfriend dead on the sidewalk. I cannot imagine his horror and what he is dealing with. This young woman was not a slim woman, thus there is huge damage to his truck, and soon he will have to answer to why and how this all happened, so sadly and needlessly. My guess, he may have thought he hit something and run..in fear.

As a walker and driver, I have almost been killed myself and also have to watch my speed, looking and driving defensively. As well, I make sure I leave early and if I don't get there in time, I have to take the responsibility of my actions or the fact that traffic was slow due to unforeseen incident.
