Expanding @risingstargame Shiny Collection, Blockchain Revenue and Optimism for Future

in #risingstar2 days ago

Sticking with a project for long instead of jumping around from place to place has its advantages. Sometimes this includes being "lucky". It is fair to assume that most people have average luck and if you have had a string of not so lucky times, there is a good chance of coming across some lucky events that cause a regression to the mean. This is not a causal relationship. I am merely pointing out what is statistically more likely to happen. It is with great pleasure that I announce my second Shiny Card.

R62s Chubby Subby

There are zero Cards in Market. Even if it does show up, there is a high likelihood that the price will be far higher than other Instruments with 50 Luck due to the scarcity. IIRC, I did less than 20 Shoe Shine Missions to see the following on the log:

A Nerf from R62 Chubby Subby

I don't know the reasoning behind this nerf. This was not the case for E65s The Crow. It was 4X more difficult to get in terms of odds and had the same Stats as the discontinued Card it was based on. I shared the details in this article. I can definitely say that I prefer the outcome of Shiny Happy People than with Shoe Shine Mission.

Overall I'm happy to see new gameplay that bring utility to STARPRO while also putting some of the older artwork to use in a new way. The number of Shiny Cards in circulation are reflective of the amount of STARPRO burned.

Revenue is Very Important

There is a great deal of smoke and mirrors in cryptosphere. Even what appears to be serious projects often function like memecoins with extra steps. Sometimes this is not even happening out of malicious intent. Designing good Tokenomics is difficult and it is a problem faced by the entire industry.

One of the important things with a 5 year old game like @risingstargame is there has been plenty of time for the project to go bankrupt. We are doing fine even after two bear markets. I cannot say that we are thriving. At we have survived long enough to fight for few more days.

The Lindy Effect is a concept that suggests the future life expectancy of a non-perishable item, such as a technology, idea, or cultural artifact, is proportional to its current age. This means that the longer something has survived, the longer it is likely to continue existing. Mathematically, the Lindy Effect can be described using a Pareto distribution, where the survival function of an item's lifetime follows a power-law distribution.

$HIVE Price Plays A Role

When users engage in "Proof of Brain" revenue distribution (65% of HIVE inflation), it is the same amount of HIVE that is getting allocated for the authors and curators. Players could vote on the content from @risingstargame and other DAPPs to bring them some extra revenue. There is a direct positive impact that DAPPs can feel when $HIVE perform well. One of the great things about the previous month is that there has been few periods of price increases that are combined with high volumes.

The exchanges that listed HIVE Perpetuals must be happy because these are some very impressive numbers for a project with a marketcap of $123,676,535. Ranking higher in marketcap will bring more attention. More attention leads to more investors and users. With enough new users, @risingstargame can recapture its old highs and grow even bigger.

Ongoing Seasonal Mission

We have several Seasonal Missions every year. Those who have been following my content or have been playing the game for time should be familiar with how this work. The succinct explanation can be presented as this:

  • Get a specific Card from new Booster Packs or Market.
  • Complete the Mission as many times before deadline.
  • Get a chance to earn Instrument Cards.

There are almost 3 weeks left until the deadline. Players can get started with the Mission and have a high chance of making back their investment and an good ROI on top of that. Card prices fall after the initial launch of the Mission. Instrument prices do not face the same level of price drop. If you missed the launch, we could be approaching the next best time to put S108 Isley to use.

Make sure to compare the prices against the previous Seasonal Cards to get an idea about the future trajectory of the prices. Rather than telling my readers exact times to buy or sell, I want to teach them how to make good decisions.

Final Piece of Optimism

NEM was one of the biggest cryptocurrency during the time I got into cryptosphere. It was a blast from the past to see it come back on my radar out of blue with some incredible short term price action. It was a very pleasant surprise to see the project. I even remember using their wallet (which was very good for its time). There could be comeback stories out of nowhere. When these events happen, those who remember the project from past days can have renewed interest. HIVE has over 2.5 million inactive accounts. Rising Star has at least thousands of inactive users. We are not starting from Scratch!
