$RISE Vision Delegated Proof-of-Stake: A Noob's Guide

What is RISE?

RISE is a Delegated Proof-of-Stake Cryptocurrency.

There are 101 delegates that hold 450,000 RISE and run forging pools to 'mint' new coins. People who vote for the delegate will receive payouts.

The idea is that if you are a delegate, you will forge new coins. The more voting power you have, the more coins you will mint as a delegate.

Non-delegates will vote for delegates in the top 101. By voting, they will receive a share of RISE every so often as a payout.

It's good practice to talk to your delegate in the RISE Vision slack. It's not just picking and choosing a delegate at random, but as a voter, you want to be sure and choose a delegate that will actually pay you out!

RISE is also a user-friendly application development platform!

According to their site at http://rise.vision/,

"The RISE SDKs support multiple popular code languages such as Javascript, Python, C#, Ruby and JAVA. RISE wants to bring basic Decentralized Apps (DAPPs) and Smart Contract creation within the reach of everyone, not just skilled developers, through user-friendly graphical user interfaces and drag-and-drop type building tools."

With Ethereum, for example, smart contracts must be executed using code. Rise will provide a Smart Contract builder to layer on top of that.

RISE is aiming to create an ecosystem for smart contracts, applications, payments, and more. At 115 million coin cap, it has low enough volume where anything under 50 cents will be a good price to buy RISE. Today the block reward is 15 RISE per block, and will decrease along with an annual percentage of inflation. After 5 years, the block reward will become 0 Rise per block and 0 inflation, and transaction fees alone will sustain the network.

It's a unique and different idea that makes the project very compelling. Not to mention the community involved with RISE and the development team. There are other PoS coins out there, Blackcoin is one of my favorites, but it seems like RISE offers a lot more than all of the rest out there!
