Doki Doki Literature Club - Free-to-play game
Doki Doki Literature Club review
“This game is not suitable for children or those who are easily disturbed.”
This is the first thing we read when we open the game for the first time. Weren´t this a date simulator?
Well, let´s take a quick look about the game.
We join this game´s world as the kind of otaku character: average guy that likes anime and games and doesn´t have special interest in social interactions. However, we go everyday to school in commpany of Sayori, our best childhood friend.
Sayori is a cheerful, clumsy girl that always looks for our good despite the fact that she needs to take care of herselft too, usually getting late at class. She has been our friend since long time and you have a really good connection with her.
Whatever, she asks you to visit the literature club in hope you get involved with it. But man, why would you join a club? it´s fine playing games at home and reading manga, you know?
However, you will end there with the promise to take a bite to some cupcakes and meet the literature club members.
First, we get introduced to Monika, the president of the club. She knows from before and seems a nice , chill and clever girl. Just like the idea girl. But, it´s that real at all?
Then we have Yuri, an intellectual girl that loves books. She seems not that good with social interactions, however, she stops being shy when a book is the main topic, getting carried away.
Finally, we have the tsundere girl, Natsuki, the one who baked a cute kitty cupcakes for your visit in the club (obviously, she won´t admit it).
After a little struggle, you officially join the literature club. But not without homework.
Monika asked everyone to bring the next day a poem wrote by yourself. So, we are going to play a minigame that look like this:
We choose words to make our own poem. Every time one is clicked, a certain chibi of a characters jumps happy. This is a important thing in the gameplay.
Bringing back that spooky sentence of the start of this post... what´s it is all about? characters look cute and harmless.
Well, that´s some of the magic of this game that should remain untold and experience it by yourself.
You can download it on the official website or in Steam
Hope you did like this review, see you next time! :3
