Review | Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X

in #review7 years ago (edited)

After 3 months of procrastination & away for college.. I'm back again!

Almost a month ago I dropped my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on the floor & the tempered glass broke....
Guess what? The screen under it wasn't broken but the screen keep on flickering.
I've brought to Samsung service center and they told me it's the LCD which was broken.
It cost around MYR 722.90 which is really expensive for a college student like me -.-
And then I came across to this China phone while I was online shopping on Shopee.my.
---> Click this link to find out <---
It's cheaper than repairing my phone so I thought why not give it a try?
(MYR 670 when I bought because there's year-end promotion but now the price decreased to MYR 649 OMG..)

The delivery was fast.. it took like almost 2 days to arrive & it came with a 1 year local supplier warranty
even though it is a china imported phone which we cannot find in Malaysia
(p/s: Malaysia only have one version which is Black/Gold color, 3GB RAM/32GB ROM)

Well, let's get started.

Basic Features that You Need to Know

Here's what came with the box

Phone case, micro-fibre sticker for back of phone & tempered glass protector wasn't included.
---> Silicon Case & Tempered Glass <---
---> Back Fiber Sticker <---
(but as u can see the tempered glass doesn't fit & idk whether is my problem, the 2 edges were not attached nicely T-T)

It's a Mediatek version phone as it's fully imported from China.
So it's different from the other version as the LED light is on the right just like the Redmi Note4 (It's hard to find a fully protected tempered glass & phone case locally).
You can search for the phone case & tempered glass easily especially from China website like Taobao for a cheaper price.
Good news is that it came with global ROM which has Playstore installed in it
and u won't be afraid to get back to China software again after you've formatted.

It's just a simple plain white box
Front: 4X word on top & a sticker about the RAM/ROM on top right
Back: Specifications & model of the phone
Inside: Phone, Charger adapter, USB charger connector, SIM card ejection pin, User manual guide
(yes, without a headphone but no worries there's a headphone jack hahaha)

Translations on box:

Cherry Blossom Pink color

A More Closer Look

Bottom part: micro-USB 2.0 port & speakers

Left side: Volume button & Power button
(sometimes it's kind of inconvenient because you'll accidentally press the power button & turn the screen on while pressing volume button)

Top part: As u can see the Mediatek version has the IR port located at the middle of upper side just like Redmi Note 4.
Snapdragon version has the IR port on the side of audio receiver(?) at upper side

Right side: Dual-SIM / micro-SD slot

Overview, Experience & Review

Lockscreen: Lol that's me & my boyfriend's German Shepherd<3

Homescreen: I've changed the theme to corgi's XD

Device information (1)

Device information (2)

Battery usage: 6.30 am - 8.30 pm

Cleaner: Which is just like Clean Master app. I don't have to download this app anymore to clean the junks.
(my boyfriend always said that the app is annoying when I was using my previous phone HAHAHA)

Customise Phone Ringtone: I used to install GO SMS Pro in order to set my musics as ringtone but now I don't need it anymore.
(just press the '+')

Then you can select the ringtones either from your internal storage or external storage

While buying a phone, there are always 3 sectors that I'll pay attention to
--> Camera: Not as nice as my Note 5 even though it has 13 MP (3/5 stars)
There's grains when I zoom a bit into the images to capture (it's the type of lens which matters?)

Zoomed in not even till x 4.0(maximum)

It's ok if you didn't zoom into x 2.0

This morning before class starts :D First photo with this phone's camera! (Iced Latte + bae behind <3)

--> Battery capacity: I left my house for college around 7 am & came back around 8 pm with a battery of 19 % (5/5 stars)

--> Storage: I've inserted 8 GB micro-SD card. It's enough for me as it already came with 64 GB ROM (5/5 stars)
Overall with these specs, it's really worth the price.
