RE: South African Art is Being Noticed, but...

Sorry for the late answer, and not so useful one furthermore as I don't have any experience on that topic.
That's quite an amount of money required for the occasion. I'm not sure what kind of help a modest artist would get in France... Maybe some through associative structures sponsoring, or city subvention.

Hi @berien I'm sure that getting support from governments for artists is a world wide problem, it's just compounded here because of the exchange rate as the value of the Rand is so pathetically low. The country has many issues (housing, jobs, water and electricity supply) If basic needs can't be met then giving funds to artists is by far at the bottom of the list of priorities. Having said that, South Africans are used to not getting support from government and this makes for a community that learn to rely on ourselves, take matters into their own hands and making things happen for ourselves, creative plans will be made to get this artist over there. Every now and then I just need to vent my frustrations though, so thanks for reading and putting up with my little moaning session.

No problem : that allows your readers to see things from another point of view and about expressing your frustrations, well... if an artist can't show his emotions, who could do it ? :D
Feel free to share : that's free knowledge for people like me who don't travel, and thanks for that ;)
