Wisdom

World has much to say about wisdom, but Bible teaches us that world cannot accept God's spirit. True wisdom according to the Scriptures is a stumbling block and foolishness for this world, but God will put this false wisdom to shame, because His foolishness is greater than man's wisdom and his weakness stronger than human strenght (1 Corinthians 1.25).

(1 Corinthians 1.27) But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
(1 Corinthians 3.18) Let no man deceive himself If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise.

Solomon, one of the wisest men ever said

(Proverbs 9.10) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

You're probably asking yourself what is the fear of the LORD? We are lucky that Solomon answered that question for us

(Proverbs 8.13) To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.

Those who abide in good and despise evil are ones who have the fear of the LORD. The wisdom of this world teaches us how to make a benefit in all situations, but the Bible teaches that this wisdom is not from God.

(James 3.14,15) But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.

We are ordered not to do such things, but to be transformed and renewed.

(Romans 12.2) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

God is willing to give us wisdom if we pray for it

(James 1.5) If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

What if we are wise?

Even though Bible and Jesus Christ himself encourage us to be wise (Matthew 10.16), we are not to be proud of it.

(1 Corinthians 8.2) Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know.
(Proverbs 3.7) Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
(Isaiah 5.21) Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.

The only thing Apostle Paul said that he was proud of was the cross of Christ.

(Galatians 6.14) May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
