Not All Prayers Are Answered
Prayer is an expression of request or hope to God. In general, prayer is more closely associated with spiritual or religious aspects rather than mathematical or statistical aspects. This means that whether it is answered or not depends on the prayer itself.
The answer to the aforementioned question can be 'yes' or 'no'. If you are a religious person, there are certain general requirements that have been established in many religions regarding the granting of prayers. These requirements are as follows:
- Belief: Prior to offering prayers, one must firmly believe that their prayers will be heard and answered by God or a higher power.
- Sincere intention: Prayers should be offered with genuine and sincere intentions, without unfavorable motives or personal interests.
- Adherence to religious teachings: Prayers must align with the teachings of the religion. For instance, prayers that contradict religious teachings, such as prayers for causing harm to others, will not be granted.
- Fulfillment of certain conditions: Some religions also have specific requirements that must be fulfilled before a prayer can be answered, such as performing the five daily prayers in Islam or observing fasting during specific times in Hinduism.
- Karma and good deeds: In certain religions, prayers are more likely to be answered if accompanied by good deeds and adherence to religious teachings. For example, in Buddhism, performing good deeds can help increase one's karma and strengthen the impact of prayers.
- Consistency: Prayers should be repeated regularly and consistently, with the same conviction and intention each time.
Drawing from my knowledge, I will add the word "probability" to emphasize that prayers should not just a fantasy.
- Fantasy prayer:
You prayed to be at school on time, but in reality, you are still sleeping (the time clearly indicates the start of the first lesson).
In this case, your desire or hope to be at school is only a dream or a delusion, and the fact that you are sleeping shows that you are not physically present at school. It is not possible for God to suddenly transport your body into a classroom.
- Prayers Contain PROBABILITY
Praying to have a healthy body motivates you to exercise.
In this example, the desire or aspiration to achieve a healthy body and the fact that you develop a habit of exercising are connected to probability. Probability refers to the likelihood or chance of an event occurring. In this case, we can assert that the possibility of attaining a healthy body through exercise is highly likely.
But is that sufficient?
Certainly not. In the same example, even if you maintain a regular exercise routine, it does not guarantee instant realization of your dream, as there are other factors that can impact your health, such as a nutritious diet and a balanced lifestyle.
Therefore, it is essential to elevate the level of your prayers to increase the probability, ensuring that they are not merely wishful thinking. Emphasize prayer on our efforts, not just on the prayer itself.
Thank you for such a nice elaboration on prayer.
