Stay cool for the summer with three refreshing flavors—Watermelon-Lime, Honeydew-Ginger-Mint, and Cantaloupe-Basil—of shaved ice.

INGREDIENTS
YIELDS: 6 SERVINGS

Watermelon-Lime
1 6-to 7-lb. watermelon
Simple syrup (recipe, right)
Zest of 2 limes
Juice of 4 limes (about 1/2 cup total)

Honeydew-Ginger-Mint
2 4-lb. honeydew melons
Simple syrup (recipe, right)
2 tbsp. fresh grated ginger
4 sprigs fresh mint.

Cantaloupe-Basil
1 6-lb. cantaloupe
Simple syrup (recipe, right)
2 large sprigs fresh basil

DIRECTIONS
TOTAL TIME: 0:40
1.Remove the skin and seeds from the melon (pick one from above); cut into 2-inch pieces (you should be left with about 4 pounds total).

2.Make the simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1/4 cup water, and 1/4 teaspoon salt; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer (don’t stir) until the sugar dissolves, 2 to 3 minutes.

3.Remove from the heat and stir in the flavorings (everything but the melon); let cool completely. Strain into a small bowl or measuring cup.

4.In a blender, working in two batches, puree half the simple syrup mixture and half the melon until smooth. Strain into a metal loaf pan or square pan; repeat with remaining syrup and melon. Cover and freeze until set, about 8 hours.

5.When ready to serve, using a fork, scrape the surface of the melon ice to create large flakes. Transfer to glasses, top with a splash of soda water, and serve with additional fruit, if desired....

Easy and delicious sparkling blueberry lemonade. The perfect cool down summer drink!

Ingredients

♦2/3 cup white sugar (superfine is best)
2/3 cup water.
♦1 and 1/2 cups fresh blueberries.
♦1 teaspoon lemon zest.
♦1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (~4-5 whole large lemons).
♦2 cups ice cubes.
♦3 cups sparkling water or club soda (my favorite is sparkling lemon lime water).

Instructions

♦Combine the sugar, water, blueberries, and lemon zest in a saucepan.
♦Bring to a boil over medium heat and then simmer for 5-10 minutes or until the sugar is melted and blueberries are starting to burst.
♦Remove from the heat and pass through a fine sieve. Let this blueberry syrup completely cool.
♦Meanwhile, juice the lemons to get 1 cup lemon juice.
♦In a large pitcher, add the blueberry syrup, lemon juice, and ice. Stir together.
♦Stir in the sparkling water or club soda RIGHT before enjoying (don't add sparkling water/club soda to anything you plan on having leftover).....

Strawberry Limeade Slushies

Ingredients

♦2 cups halved fresh strawberries, washed & hulled.
♦2 cups ice cubes.
♦3/4 cup water.
♦1/4 cup lime juice.
♦4 Tablespoons sugar
♦4 fresh strawberries.
♦lime slices.

Instructions

♦Place everything in a large blender. ♦Process until smooth.
♦Pour into 4 cups. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and lime slice, if desired.
♦Serve immediately.

Kids love watermelon—making this the perfect drink to serve at family-friendly barbecues and summer parties. :)

ingredients:

♦4-5 cups of seedless watermelon (1 medium-sized watermelon), cut into chunks.
♦1/2 peeled cucumber, cut into chunks
♦5 -10 mint leaves roughly chopped
♦3 tablespoons of sugar
♦1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice
♦a pinch of salt......

Directions

♦Depending on the size of your blender, you may have to do this in two batches, I did.
♦Divide your ingredients in half, and process it twice if need be.
♦ Place all the ingredients in a blender, and process until it smooth.
♦Pour the mixture through a strainer into a bowl, pressing the solids with a wooden spoon to get all the liquid out.
♦Place the watermelon mixture back in your blender and add ice cubes. ♦Depending on how slushy you want it, add your ice cubes accordingly.
♦I wanted mine very slushy, almost like a snow cone, so I used lots of ice cubes. ♦Serve immediately.

Ingredients
♦6 oz San Pellegrino Limonata
♦1 Tbsp raspberry jam
♦juice of 1/2 a lemon
♦fresh raspberries for muddling & garnish
♦lemon slices for garnish
♦mint....

Instructions

♦In a glass muddle 4 raspberries.

♦Stir in 1 Tbsp raspberry jam and top with a splash of Limonata. Stir to combine.

♦Fill glass with ice.

♦Top with Limonata and fresh lemon juice.

♦Garnish with more berries, lemon slices and mint.

It’s something I came up with on a whim a few years ago when I was craving something sweet and refreshing and now I’m turning it into an even healthier recipe by adding 7 Up TEN (Just 10 calories per serving! ).

For the punch. Mix a 50:50 ratio of 7 UP TEN 100 % Mango Smoothy Juice (I use Mighty Mango Naked Juice). Because I use a smoothy juice the punch is definitely on the thicker side. Just giving you a heads up!

I picked up the new 7 UP TEN at Safeway this weekend.

start by making a batch of fruit ice cubes. Simply throw 1-2 cups of raspberries and mangoes into a food processor along with a cup of water. Pulse until smooth.

Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze. And then add them to your pitcher or glass!

♦2 crisp apples (such as Granny Smith and Braeburn)...

♦Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
♦Remove from heat and add the tea bags. ♦Let steep, stirring twice, for 4 minutes. ♦Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool.
♦Once the iced tea concentrate is cool, core and thinly slice the apples.
♦Stir the apples and apple juice into the iced tea concentrate.
♦Serve over ice.

DIRECTIONS

♦PurĆ©e the sugar and kiwi in a blender until smooth.

♦In a 1-quart container, stir together the lemon juice and water. Add the kiwi purĆ©e and stir. Chill until very cold.

♦To serve, pour 1/2 cup of the kiwi mixture into each of 8 tall glasses. Fill with ice and add roughly 1/2 cup seltzer water to fill the glass.…

♦ If you like, spike a lemon and/or kiwi wedge on the rim of each glass.
