Song of the Day // Steemit Record Pool: Tame Impala - List of People (To Try and Forget About)
I've been a fan of Tame Impala's music since their debut album, Innerspeaker, dropped back in 2010. Fast forward to today, and the band's sound has evolved from heavy neo-psych to dancy snyth-pop. This past November they released an E.P. titled Currents B-Sides & Remixes, a sort of followup to their acclaimed 2015 album Currents. Its opening track "List of People (To Try and Forget About)" is an infectiously groovy tune that I can't seem to stop playing. The percussion booms with a funky swing, the synths are delightfully spacey, and the vocals are mournful yet powerful.

The lyrics on this track really connect with me on a personal level. When frontman Kevin Parker sings "Now I gotta add you to my list of people to try and forget about", images of a passionate past love enter my mind. The words are so relatable and sung with such conviction that I almost feel like he's channeling my inner dialogue. Music has such a peculiar way of capturing human emotion. Tame Impala absolutely nails it here.
