HOW Much Cake?!?!

I often get asked how many people a cake will feed. This cake portion guide shows the approximate number of portions a single tier round cake will provide.

Cakes are approximately 3.5” deep. The serving guide is based on cakes being cut into either 1” x 1” finger portions or 2” x 1” dessert portions.

Wedding cakes and fruit cakes are often cut into finger portions, but there are no rules here! Add together tier sizes to work out how many portions a wedding cake will serve. For sponge celebration cakes, such as Birthday cakes, allow for dessert portions … or even larger slices!
