RECIPE: PIETICHO DE PLATANO

Today I bring you a dish of our gastronomy very interesting, nutritious, criollito rich and with a lot of potassium.

The banana pastiche is similar to the traditional pastiche, only that the sheets of pasta are replaced by ripe bananas making it a delicacy of the Venezuelan Creole food.

The mixture (ingredients) of this dish makes a spectacular difference from the traditional pastiche between the sweet and the acid of the banana.

INGREDIENTS:

8 Ripe bananas
1 Kilo of ground beef.
4 Tomatoes
2 onions
2 Cloves of garlic
500 grams of white cheese
400 grams of Parmesan cheese
500 grams of ham
½ cup of vegetable oil.

PREPARATION:

Select the plantains and cut them in the form of long slices, take them to the pan until golden brown.

Then the tomatoes are placed in a container with water and salt, until softened, they are taken to the blender to obtain the sauce.

Make a sofrito with the onion and garlic, add the meat, then the tomato sauce and bring to fire for half an hour.

To make the Bechamel sauce you must fry onion, you must take a cup of milk, mustard to taste, half a cup of wheat flour and make the cream.

Select a wide tray to place the banana slices, then pour the Bechamel sauce, meat, cheese and ham. Repeat the operation until 5 layers are formed.

Cover before baking with béchamel sauce and Parmesan cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil and take it to the oven for 30 minutes, you can remove the foil in the last 15 minutes and leave it until golden brown.
