Healthy smoothie recipes for the new year
So we did two new recipes. One in the morning and one in the evening. - this morning it was more of a mellow great anytime smoothie. We put in the following:
1- cup plain yogurt
1 spoonful of flax
1/2 cucumber
1/2 honey dew melon
1 cup blueberries
1/4 cup mango
1- cup of ice
Perfect to start the morning off. This was mellow and a nice boost for the day. Next time I think we should add more Mango.
We looked up a list of ingredients that are good for the heart and arteries and made some adjustments to this evening smoothies and added some extras. Here is the list of what we added for the evening smoothie.
1- cup of yogurt
1- spoonful of pumpkin seeds
3-carrots
1-bannana
1-cup of broccoli
1- cup of pomegranate
6- leaves of mint
5-cloves of garlic
1/4 honey dew melon
(ended up adding 2- cups apple juice to help the flavor)
1- cup of Ice
Well - even with the extra apple juice added to help with flavor- this was not the best mix. We got it down, daughter could not drink it, she said the garlic smell was too strong. I think we will have to tweak this one quite a bit for future, less variety - of tastes - it just gets too crazy and alot of garlic after taste.
Be on the lookout for more recipes in the future. At least we are working on having more fruits and vegetables in our daily intake.
im going to have to try these. they look and sound amazing. plus i just got my vitamix blender so we are always trying to find new reasons and recipes to use. and i got to say, adding more mango is never a bad idea. i love mangos
Yes that is what we just got for the holidays also.
its awesome. my daughter (4 years old) loves making ice cream with it and it makes really good quick soup
We have not tried soup yet, that is a great idea.
LOL THATS SO MUCH GARLIC
Way too much - lol we will not be using garlic in smoothies again - or maybe just one - trying to eat more healthy things.
