Popular Shakshouka - Eggs in Tomato Sauce

Thanks to its rich taste and ease of cooking shakshouka became one of the most popular dishes in Middle East. Braised tomatoes, sweet pepper, onion, garlic and spices coupled with properly cooked eggs make the taste of shakshouka unique. Israel people liked this tasty breakfast so much that created lots of different kinds of recipes and additives to shakshouka. Cook it as in our video recipe and you will see that this dish became famous for a good reason.

Ingredients:
• tomatoes – 10,5 oz / 300 g
• crushed tomato (grated tomato pulp) – 7 oz / 200 g
• onion – 3,5 oz / 100 g
• 1 red sweet pepper
• 1 chili pepper
• garlic – 2 cloves
• 3 eggs
• ground sweet paprika – 1 tbsp
• salt – ½ tsp
• ground black pepper – ½ tsp
• sugar – 1 tbsp
• vegetable oil – 1 tbsp
• parsley – 1 tbsp

You will need:
• pan
• carving board

Preparation:
0:00 1. Cut the bulb onion and bell pepper into thin strips. Dice the garlic finely, chili pepper into thin rings.
0:45 2. Pour the vegetable oil into a heated pan and fry the garlic and chili pepper for 30 seconds.
0:56 3. Add the cut onion, tomatoes, bell pepper and fry for 2 minutes.
1:19 4. Add the crushed tomatoes and stir, braise for 10 minutes over low heat.
1:27 5. Add all the spices and stir.
1:37 6. Move aside the stewed vegetables with a spoon and pour in an egg, then make other hollows and pour in the rest of eggs.
1:54 7. Keep frying over low heat for about 4 minutes. Egg whites should be cooked and turn white while yolks stay liquid. Shakshouka is ready.
1:59 8. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve your shakshouka in the pan to the table.
