Are the rebase tokens dying?
I am really asking this question... A few months ago, we all spoke about them we wrote about them, and we talked about them. In fact, we even bragged about them. After all, they were giving us fantastic passive income at a very high rate.
But, then we started our experiment, and everything fell apart. The prices are just constantly falling, and it never seems to stop. Even the original, OlympusDAO, is currently trading below the backed price. We do not expect them to start buyback tokens, but it is just interesting to see that even the biggest giant of them all is suffering and having a hard time.
Wonderland is a protocol most people have already forgotten about and now they are preparing to type it among their losses on the annual tax paper. Hector Finance is doing a decent job trying to survive, but they are struggling as well, even though they are fighting really hard.
In other words, it seems like the time is soon over for the rebase tokens. They might survive, but if they do and as they do, it will most likely be because they are changed their profile and come up with something interesting that will work beside the rebase thought.
For example, MagnetDAO has now dropped Vector Finance, a protocol working with Platypus on Avalanche, just like Convex works with Curve on Ethereum. So, who knows what the future will hold?
