For me the hardest part is once someone decides who you are, you are stuck in that position
.So anything that you do that doesn’t align with that persona, seems strange and out of character. Sometimes it’s best to keep part of us hidden because that’s that part of us that doesn’t make sense to anyone else. It’s not a way of acting out but another way of being ourselves. Sometimes you are who they think you are, and sometimes you’re not. The part of you that nobody knows is who you really are. Because nobody told you how to be it. This comes off as being mysterious and mischievous, when in reality, it’s the most innocent way of being. Trying to preserve (bad or good) sides of self because within these habits, we see another side of us. And that makes us feel free.
