How Do You Deal With Adversity?
One of the most common mistakes we make is to think that our life would be better if there where no problems.
Living a good life is certainly not living a problem free life, but rather living a live with fewer problems which we are confident to undertake.
Life is neither easy nor difficult, it's entirely up to us to decide how we want it to be.
It’s our negative perception and attitude that turns neutral circumstances into something full of despair and anger, confusion and frustration.
If we approach these circumstances from a different perspective, by changing the way we think and look at them, we change the way we perceive and respond to them.
Our perception plays an important role in life because it determines how we process, interpret, understand, learn and respond to such situations.
We often interpret the adversities or challenges that we encounter in life, as obstacles that block our path and prevent us from moving forward in life.
Because of this interpretation many of us attempts to avoid the obstacles instead of doing the work to overcome them.
It’s the human nature to seek for comfort.
Once we secure a source of comfort, we are reluctant to engage in difficult or uncertain situations because we could risk to loose that comfort.
It is always hard to believe that, in the present moment, the pain you are going through has a life changing purpose, which is worthy of the stress and discomfort that you are most likely feeling so most people would rather choose another way to find their destiny that is not so painful.
We instinctively react to problems without thinking and developing a clear vision of what is taking place, because we are paralyzed by the overwhelming fear of the future.
The truth is, any untoward circumstances or events occurring in our lives has been called forth to help and guide us along our paths.
Every new problem comes with a new opportunity that helps us build our lives.
The problems and challenges are the stones upon which we build our character, resilience, creativity and conviction. They help us drawing out our strengths and qualities and discover who we are.
It is pretty useless to spend a lot of time and effort trying to avoid the difficulties of life when you could have used the same time and effort to face and overcome them.
When you push yourself beyond the false boundary of what you think is possible, you level up in life and realize that you’re capable of more than you ever thought possible.
Comfort is not your friend when it comes to career growth and personal development.
It’s the learning that comes from the adversity that creates the opportunity for growth.
Adversity is one of the most powerful forces in life. It can bring out your best or your worst.
Ultimately, it is up to you.
