Day 11 of #quiettime | How to spice up your life in a daily basis: #dailyhabits One chapter a day for one year challenge - 1 JOHN 4

Good morning Steemians!

Today, our #quiettime is about communion. Communion is a time where we remember and reflect on the death, burial and resurrection of our Dear Lord Jesus Christ. This was possible because of His GREAT LOVE to us. Even though LOVE Month have passed, we are still going to talk about LOVE – LOVE OF GOD.

To begin with, let me ask some questions…

• Have you been in LOVE? How was it?

• Were you joyful?

• Were you sorrowful?

Source

It’s normal to feel either joyful and sorrowful if we are in LOVE. Good thing we all can relate to this. Moreover, Jesus can relate to this as well.

To encourage us more about LOVE, let us open our Bible to 1 John 4:7-11

‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:7-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Isn’t it awesome to know that God is LOVE? When we talk about LOVE, we talk about God. When we share the LOVE OF GOD to people, they too will know and might LOVE GOD in return. We are capable to LOVE because of Jesus Christ GREAT sacrifice. He showed it to us through shedding His blood on the cross because He wants encourage us to LOVE one another.

Jesus can relate if we feel joyful and/or sorrowful when we were in LOVE.

Why does Jesus feel sorrowful? In my opinion…

1. He felt sorrowful because it’s not easy to be crucified knowing that you didn’t commit any crime/sin.

2. He is God, who is a King in Heaven, but stepped down his Kingship.

Imagine the sorrow that Jesus went through just to show us His GREAT LOVE to us.

Why does Jesus felt joyful? In my opinion…

1. He has shown His GREAT LOVE to us.

2. He has shown His GREAT LOVE to His Father – God

It is indeed difficult to LOVE. Much more to the people who have certain characters that are compatible to you character. You know what? In my opinion, they serve as instruments of God to teach us what LOVE really is all about – LOVE is when we give but don’t expect something in return.

Jesus Christ didn’t expect you and me to LOVE Him back when He shed His blood on the cross. As Christians, we were once subject to death because of sin. We were once enemies of God. But you know what? God didn’t look at us as sinners who have no HOPE. Rather He look at us with COMPASSION and GREAT LOVE. That’s why He sent Jesus Christ to show His GREAT LOVE to the world.

Today as we worship God through our Communion message…

• Let us LOVE God back by LOVING one another even though it hurts sometimes

• Let us not choose who to LOVE, let us LOVE period even though it is difficult sometimes.

It’s hurtful to LOVE but it’s much more hurtful if we don’t LOVE at all

To God be all the Glory!

Let us pray…

Dear Heavenly Father, good morning to you God. Thank you for the great day you have given to us. Thank you for the hearts that read this post. Truly you are worthy of all the praises above all else. Thank you for sending Jesus Christ to the world to reach us and others as well. Please bless our day. May we always remember the great sacrifice of Jesus. We feel joyful and sorrowful but it’s meaningful. May we learn from Jesus’ heart and apply the LOVE to one another. Help us not to choose who to LOVE but to LOVE without expecting in return. Sorry if sometime we hurt you through our sins in not loving one another. May we LOVE them even though it is difficult sometimes. May you be glorified in everything we do today. All these I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
